A man of methodical habits, Mr. Roth always returned from downtown shopping or visiting at about 4:30 p.m. His wife, Edna, became alarmed when he did not arrive and when Willard came home he set out along the path Mr. Roth traveled going to or from town, which led from 27 across a lot near the Gedney pickle warehouse to the railroad tracks. Finding no relief, he started for home, and reached as far as Louisville, Kentucky, of which city he was a native, born November 3, 1842, and there he breathed his last. The death of a Manitowoc County youth today brought Wisconsin's 1972 traffic fatality toll to 622, compared with 583 on this date a year ago.
